Specifically, the presentation will include an overview of:

• Social Motivations - What do we know about fairness and justice in decision-making: decision neuroscience underpinning fairness, and why social motivations are relevant for policy, presented by Professor Alan Sanfey; 
• Inclusive Education - How can we improve the inclusivity of our education: the relevance of experimental economics in achieving educational goals, presented by Dr. Jana Vyrastekova; and 
• Health Behaviour Change (Corona) - Adherence to prevention measures and the use of behavioural science during the COVID-19 pandemic, presented by Professor Marijn de Bruin.

Alan Sanfey is Professor of Decision Neuroscience at Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, & the Behavioural Science Institute at Radboud University Nijmegen. In addition, Professor Sanfey is also Director of the Radboud Center for Decision Science. Professor Sanfey’s research utilizes a novel approach to the study of both individual and interactive decision-making by combining behavioural experiments, functional neuroimaging, and formal economic models. Examining sophisticated high-level behaviour at a neural level, such as deciding on how much risk to take with an investment or deciding on a strategy when playing a competitive game with an opponent, can provide important clues as to the fundamental mechanisms by which decision-making operates. A further goal of his group is to use the knowledge gleaned from his studies to inform public policy debates.

Jana Vyrastekova is Associate Professor in Economics, Policy & Behaviour at Radboud University Nijmegen. Her research areas include experimental economics, behavioural economics and policy, field experiments, social inclusion, inequality and fairness, social norms and gender. Dr. Vyrastekova uses laboratory and field experiments and questionnaires to study social inclusion and cooperation. She is Senior Comenius Teaching Fellow and a teacher ambassador of the Radboud Teaching and Learning Center.

Marijn de Bruin is Professor of Behavioural Medicine & Health Psychology at Radboud University Medical Centre (Radboudumc). He is also Chief Scientist of the Corona Behavioural Unit at the National Public Health Institute (RIVM). Professor de Bruin is a behavioural scientist with expertise in the development, evaluation, synthesis, and implementation of health behaviour interventions in the curative and public healthcare context. He has expertise in the development of behavioural interventions; behavioural trial and systematic review methodology (e.g., comparator groups, trial reporting); and translating evidence to guidelines, national policies and public health communication.
